Home Office to deport failed asylum seeker back to Uzbekistan.
A victory for the tabloids then, showing once again that there is no line this government will not cross in the name of publicity. For those of you who can't be bothered to read the article, a member of the banned opposition party in Uzbekistan has been sent back. It is likely (given the nature of the justice system in that country) that he faces torture upon his return. If there is sufficient reason to believe this, it is simply an illegal act to send him back, under international law. Even if it weren't, it would surely be immoral, right?
